About us
This web site is for pupils of the Comprehensive Steyning Grammar School formed in 1968 from the merger of the Secondary Modern and old Grammar school.
We have created to provide as a public to archive material that we have digitised, and is freely accessible freely to former pupils.
We are always keen to add to the content of the web site so if you have material that you think may be of interest please do let us know. We will arrange to scan the material and publish
it on the web site. Of course, if you have appropriate equipment, you may choose to scan the material yourself and send us digital copies.
On the web site we have the following material:-
- An account of the merger (1968-70)
- A description of the Secondary Modern school before 1968
- Two booklets put together for pupils in 1970s by Joyce Sleight and George Cockman
- photographs loaned by Old Boys of sporting events, school plays and so on
- Some items from the 400th Anniversary in 2014 of the foundation of the school
